How to connect your domain

Most domain providers offer a way to share account access or add team members. Here’s the universal process:
1

Find your provider's access sharing feature

Log into your domain provider and look for one of these options:
  • Account Sharing
  • Team Members
  • Delegate Access
  • User Management
  • Collaborators
  • Account Permissions
These are typically found in Account Settings, Security, or Domain Management sections.
2

Add CoachIQ support

Add our team member with these details:
  • Email: liz@coachiq.io
  • Name: CoachIQ Support
  • Permission Level: DNS Management, Domain Management, or similar
Make sure the permission level allows DNS editing but doesn’t include billing access.
3

Send the invitation

Complete the invitation process. Our team will receive notification immediately.
Access granted! Now notify our support team.
4

Contact CoachIQ support

Send us a message with:
  • Your domain name
  • Your domain provider name
  • Confirmation that you’ve added liz@coachiq.io
We’ll handle all the technical configuration and notify you once complete.

Alternative: Manual DNS setup

If your provider doesn’t offer access sharing, you can configure the DNS records yourself:
1

Access DNS settings

Find your domain’s DNS or nameserver settings in your provider’s dashboard.
2

Add A record

Create a new A record:
  • Name/Host: @ (or leave blank)
  • Value/Points to: 76.76.21.21
  • TTL: 3600 or default
3

Add CNAME record

Create a CNAME record:
  • Name/Host: www
  • Value/Points to: website-v1.coachiq.io
  • TTL: 3600 or default
4

Save changes

Save all DNS changes. Your domain will connect within 24-48 hours.
Important: If you go the manual route and encounter issues, contact support and we’ll help troubleshoot.

What our team does for you

Once we have access, we’ll:
  1. Configure your A and CNAME records correctly
  2. Ensure email services aren’t disrupted
  3. Set up SSL certificates
  4. Test everything thoroughly
  5. Notify you when complete
This typically takes 2-4 hours after receiving access, with full propagation in 24-48 hours.

Common questions

Yes! We only need DNS management permissions. We cannot:
  • Access your payment information
  • Transfer or delete your domain
  • View personal account details
  • Change your account password
You maintain full ownership and can revoke access anytime.
Some smaller providers don’t offer access sharing. In these cases:
  1. Try the manual DNS setup above
  2. Contact their support for assistance
  3. Consider transferring to a provider like GoDaddy or Namecheap for easier management
Once your domain is connected:
  1. Return to your provider’s access sharing settings
  2. Find liz@coachiq.io in the list
  3. Remove or revoke access
Your domain continues working after removing access.
Yes! We only modify website records (A and CNAME). Your email records (MX) remain untouched, so email continues working normally.
  • 2-4 hours: We configure your DNS after receiving access
  • 2-24 hours: Most domains start working
  • 24-48 hours: Full worldwide propagation completes
